About

A Story For You

Hey everyone, I’m Brendan Jennings, sometimes written as Brendo, though most know me as Bren.d.o. This year has been one of firsts, lessons, and growth. From small-town roots in Southern Illinois to collaborating with Alpha Management and releasing music through Virgin and Universal, I’ve learned that dreams don’t happen all at once, they build one heartbeat, one verse at a time. My sound is my story: a mix of R&B, pop, and soul tied together by honesty and hope. Thank you for being here, for listening, and for helping me turn this journey into something real.

Music Journey

Music

Bren.d.o’s journey from Southern Illinois to the national R&B spotlight is one built on persistence, authenticity, and reinvention. He began producing and writing in small home studios, experimenting with soulful melodies that reflected his roots in storytelling and emotion. By 2025, his breakout singles “Electric Love Affair” and “Boom Boom” marked a defining moment in his career, both charting on the iTunes R&B charts and earning viral traction across YouTube and TikTok with over 750K thousand total views. Released in collaboration with Virgin, Universal, and Alpha Recording group, those songs positioned Bren.d.o as one of the most promising new voices in the alt-R&B landscape.

Other Works

Outside of music, Bren.d.o has built a deep connection to his Southern Illinois roots. As a local historian and community advocate, he has worked to preserve the legacy of Lakeview Illinois, a historically African-American community founded by formerly enslaved people before the Civil War. His historical work has been featured in regional media and educational programs, including a 2022 WPSD Local 6 segment on Lakeview’s heritage and a 2025 presentation with Illinois Humanities exploring the connections between Lakeview and former Chicago mayor Harold Washington’s family history.
Brendan is also the author of the 2025 novel “Chemical Exposure,” a suspenseful story that blends psychological drama with themes of memory and survival. The book has been made available through major retailers including Barnes & Noble and Amazon.
Earlier in his career, Brendan appeared on MTV’s reality series “When Spicy Meets Sweet” in 2008 — a playful dating show produced in collaboration with Doritos and Viacom. He later worked in project management before returning full-time to creative work in music and writing.
In 2024, under his legal name Brendan H. Jennings, he ran as a Democratic candidate for the Saline County Board in Illinois. That same year, he spoke at an Equality Illinois town hall in Carbondale about LGBTQ+ representation in small-town America, combining his creative and civic passions into one mission — to build connection, inspire progress, and tell stories that matter.
From the stage to the classroom to the community, Bren.d.o continues to push boundaries, redefining what it means to be an artist with roots in the Midwest and a message for the world.
